In Japan repair and renewal expenses of road bridges are huge due to its damage and rapid deterioration. Therefore, it’s difficult to maintain all road bridges with preventive maintenance type and abolition is necessary as an option. However, there is no method to objectively show the effects of abolition. In this study, we presented a method to compare the reduction effect of future maintenance and renewal cost and the loss due to the decline of area utility as cost effectiveness by abolition of bridge. And it became possible to quantitatively show the maintenance options including the abolition of the bridge.
